Armistice in Cambridge
The Armistice in Cambridge is the largest reenactment show in New Zealand. It’s a 2-day, annual event with plenty to do and see for the whole family, including battle re-enactments, military vehicle displays and parades, historical displays, and militaria stalls. It is held in November, around the 11th of November every year, to celebrate and commemorate the Armistice of 1918.
Re-enactors will present various battles ranging from WW2 to Boer Wars, as well as New Zealand wars. With over 100 period military vehicles at the show, many of them will aid the battle re-enactments. They also hold a vehicle parade each day. You can browse the militaria up for sale, or even bring your own items for evaluation. Stall holders can contact Phoebe on 07 827 4178 or e-mail on [email protected]. The tables are 1.8m x 0.6m and cost $40 +GST per table.
There are tons to do for families with young children as well, with a range of activities for the youngsters. Children can even win a medal by doing a number of activities including archery, air soft, Jeep ride and obstacle course, amongst many others.
And the best part is… It’s FREE to enter the show for both adults and children.
