Taking thoughts from visitors over the years they have promised more than ever\, more tanks\, more guns\, more explosions and more unique displays. Something to look forward to is the tug of war! Pitting a Russian OT90 against a British built 432. The aim is for the winner to pull gain the largest section of the car strapped between them. Certainly not something we have seen done before! \nWhats on\nAs always there will be helicopter displays and the chance to fly aboard. This years planned list (Subject to operational commitments) include an RAF Chinook\, a Gazelle\, an Apache Attack Helicopter\, a Seaking to name a few. \nYou will also have the main display area showing reenactment groups locked in battle. Some fantastically inventive displays include the tug of war\, car crushing\, naval guns being fired. SUMMARY:Wartime in the Vale
DESCRIPTION:Wartime in the Vale is held at the Ashdown WW2 Camp\nAt Wartime in the Vale you will get a great mix of WW1 & WW2 displays. Starting with dioramas put together by reenactors and enthusiasts. You can then browse a large selection of military vehicles of varying shapes and sizes whilst watching a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flyover overhead. It really is a fantastic weekend out. \nWhats on\nNormally in attendance are over 500 military vehicles\, 60+ traders selling varying items of militaria\, vintage clothing\, uniforms\, vehicle parts and much more. Of course you also have the Ashdown Camp WW2 encampment museum next-door. There is an extensive list of vehicles and reenactor groups in attendance at each show so you will be spoilt for choice. \nIf you should chose to\, you can even camp on site for the entire weekend. This requires an advance booking\, but means you can get into the thick of the event all across the weekend. DESCRIPTION:The The Overlord Show is a military history event held in Hampshire each year.\nOperating since the 1970s in one form or another the show is well established and continues to grow. Billed as the “south coasts premier military spectacular” you will find over 300 military and classic vehicles\, 70+ traders selling military items and 40+ living history / reenactor groups. \nWhats on\nThroughout the day there will be parades of vehicles from all periods of military history. Currently there are Battle of Britain memorial flight flyovers scheduled for the Friday and Sunday of the show. Of course\, there will also be a battle reenactment in the afternoon to help round off the day. Throughout the reenactor fields you will also find interesting demonstrations and displays done by the passionate groups. A WW2 soviet sniper display is currently top of our list to see! \nTicket prices vary but it is worth mentioning that they do offer a family ticket. This is for 2 adults and up to 4 children (5-15 years). DESCRIPTION:Temple at War is an annual living history event that started in 2015. This 2-day event centres around history in the past 150 years\, particularly WW1 and WW2. With hundreds of military vehicles and over a thousand re-enactors\, this is an event not to be missed! The main arena features several battle re-enactments with the help of blank firearms and explosions\, as well as military vehicles. There is something to do and something to see for the whole family. However\, please note that due to the loud noises\, dogs are not allowed entry to Temple at War (with of course the exception of guide dogs and support dogs). \nTickets are on sale now online. You will be able to purchase them on the door as well\, but they are cheaper online. You can choose whether you want to attend one day or the whole weekend. Children under 5 are free\, and between the ages of 5 and 16 you can get a discounted child ticket for them.
