A brief history of the Dodge WC51
The Dodge WC51 was a 3/4 ton 4×4 light truck produced by the Dodge division of Chrysler Corporation during World War II. It was part of a range of military vehicles produced by Dodge under the War Department’s “Truck, 1⁄2-ton, 4×4” program, which aimed to provide a standardized line of tactical trucks for the US military.
The WC51 was introduced in 1942 as a replacement for the earlier Dodge VC series of trucks.
