Militaria Shows This Weekend 12/05/23

This weekend (12/05/23), there are quite a few exciting militaria shows happening around the world, as always. These shows are great for people who collect or enjoy learning about military items. Going to a local militaria show allows you to see things up close and talk to others who share your interests. It’s the best way to learn and become an expert on militaria!

Czechia – Militaria Brno

Militaria Brno is the largest event of its kind in Czechia. In fact, it is advertised as the largest one in Central Europe. It is a bold claim, but with 9,000 square meters of space and 1,000 stall holders, it is not an unlikely claim at all! The event caters for collectors of both modern and antique/historical military items, including armour, equipment and medals.

Brno is a great location in Central Europe. It has an international airport as well, but it’s only a 2.5 hour drive from Prague, which has an even larger airport and frequent flights to and from all over the world. Militaria Brno has a partnership with a couple of local hotels, so you’ll get a discount if you’re staying in the Orea Congress Hotel or the Quality Hotel Brno Exhibition Centre.

The show itself is held in Pavilion Z of the Brno Exhibition Center, which is a gigantic convention centre in Czechia. If you’re on foot or take the bus/tram, go through Gate 7; if driving, you need to go through Gate 9. Parking costs 100kr (approximately £3.50/4€).

Entry fee to the show is 160kr (approximately £5.70/6.50€). This is a very reasonable price for such a large event! Children under 12 and those with a disabled badge/card go in for free.

UK – Temple at War

Temple at War is an annual living history event that started in 2015. This 2-day event centres around history in the past 150 years, particularly WW1 and WW2. With hundreds of military vehicles and over a thousand re-enactors, this is an event not to be missed! The main arena features several battle re-enactments with the help of blank firearms and explosions, as well as military vehicles. There is something to do and something to see for the whole family. However, please note that due to the loud noises, dogs are not allowed entry to Temple at War (with of course the exception of guide dogs and support dogs).

Tickets are on sale now online. You will be able to purchase them on the door as well, but they are cheaper online. You can choose whether you want to attend one day or the whole weekend. Children under 5 are free, and between the ages of 5 and 16 you can get a discounted child ticket for them. There is also a family ticket available, which includes entry for 2 adults and 2 children.

US, VA – Williamsburg Military Antiques Collectors Club Swap Meet

Williamsburg Military Antiques Collectors Club Swap Meet is a monthly recurring event on the third Thursday of each month.

At Militaria Today we have compiled the world’s most extensive militaria fairs and events list. We strive to be as accurate as we can. However, all events are subject to change, so we recommend checking with the event organisers before travelling, in case of any last-minute changes. We cover a worldwide market, so it can be hard to keep up with last-minute amendments.

Know of a show that’s not on our list?

Our fairs list is completely free for all users and show organisers! So if you know of a militaria fair, show, military yard/boot sale, reenactment or other event that is not on our list, just get in touch and we will happily add it to our list and promote the event on our social media. Please send any submissions via our contact us page. We want to build the most complete worldwide list available.
