Every Thursday we compile a list of the upcoming militaria shows world-wide. This weekend (26/08/22), being the August Bank Holiday weekend in the UK is a busy one. But we do also have shows in Belgium, the USA, Holland, Czechia, Germany and Australia, so a real good selection across the globe.
One of the largest shows in the UK calendar, Military Odyssey runs on the August Bank Holiday weekend every year and has done for over two decades. It is open from Saturday morning until Monday afternoon and this 3-day event takes you on a journey through 2,000 years of history with living history events, vehicle displays and a large selection of military traders on site.
The show ground is huge so make sure to wear sensible shoes. There are many food stalls, a beer tent and other facilities, not to mention all the stalls and displays so you can truly spend all day here – or even the whole bank holiday weekend! Discounted tickets are still available to buy from the show’s website.
Held on the last Sunday of each month, this local militaria collectors fair is on in the Portsmouth area in Hampshire this Sunday as normal. If you have items to sell yourself, a 6 foot table is only £10 but this must be booked and paid in advance. All are welcome to come along and you can often find some real gems at smaller, local shows.
Our last UK show on this weekend’s list is a bit different but it’s so huge, we couldn’t leave it out! It is not a militaria fair as such (although there will be some militaria stalls as well), but instead it is one of the largest – if not the largest – militaria vehicle shows in the country. We are currently in the process of compiling the same worldwide list for military vehicle shows that we have done for militaria fairs. As well as re-enactment shows, airshows and military auctions. Keep checking our events list and our Facebook page for updates!
Tanks, Trucks and Firepower has been on annually for over a decade and this year it will boast more than 380 military vehicles all weekend, as well as some classic cars and emergency vehicles on the Monday.
With tons to do and see, it is definitely expected to be a fun-filled day out! Ticket prices are very reasonable as well, and you can still purchase your ticket at a discounted rate. With it being in the Midlands, it is quite accessible from all over the country.
The Tanks in Town event is hosted in Belgium August Bank Holiday weekend. At the show you will have the chance to ride on a great selection of WW2 vehicles (subject to availability). There is also a large military fair on site so you can hunt out that next collection item.
With around 100 exhibitors, this German show will give you a wide selection of military historical collectables. You will find a lot of experienced traders and collectors.
The Southern California Military Insignia Collector’s Society – For the Perpetual Honour of Military Service & Heraldry. The SOCALMICS swap meet takes place on the last Sunday of each month other than December.
7:30am – 12 Noon (open to public at 7:45am)
Prices
$3 collector entry or if you want to sell at the event, it is $12 for an 8′ table
At this 2-day event you will find a great mix of items for sale, including but not limited to: antique firearms, coins, medals, hunting gear, hats, helmets and much more. You will have over 230 trade and display tables to browse. So there will always be interesting items to view.

At Militaria Today we have compiled the world’s most extensive militaria fairs and events list. We strive to be as accurate as we can. However, all events are subject to change, so we recommend checking with the event organisers before travelling, in case of any last-minute changes. We cover a worldwide market, so it can be hard to keep up with last-minute amendments.
Know of a show that’s not on our list?
Our fairs list is completely free for all users and show organisers! So if you know of a militaria fair, show, car boot sale, reenactment or other event that is not on our list, just get in touch and we will happily add it to our list and promote the event on our social media. Please send any submissions via our contact us page. We want to build the most complete worldwide list available.
